Summary:

The Safe & Healthy Homes practice area focuses on developing areas of expertise and providing technical service delivery to low-income homeowners. The practice area currently consists of home modification and energy efficiency programs.

Description:

The incumbent is responsible for the overall direction and management of the Safe & Healthy Homes practice area. The Director’s duties include:

Strategic Direction and Advocacy:

  • Set direction for Safe and Healthy Homes and seek funding, product donations, and opportunities expand the breadth of programs within the practice area
  • Assist in development of a public policy and advocacy position

Partnership Building:

  • Serve as a liaison to the home modifications, aging network, and energy efficiency communities
  • Pursue partnership opportunities for Safe & Healthy homes programs
  • Oversee relationship with sponsors and affiliate pass-through grants process

Media and Communications:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to incorporate home modifications and energy efficiency information in overall communications plan
  • Position Rebuilding Together as a leader in home modifications and energy efficiency communities

Outreach and Education:

  • Provide guidance and technical support to the Rebuilding Together affiliate network in all aspects of the practice area
  • Assist the affiliate network in building their capacity in the program areas.
  • Create/maintain materials that support the programs

Other Duties:

  • Oversee the program managers

Requirements:

  • Relevant programmatic experience in home modifications and aging in place
  • Familiarity with advocacy and fundraising
  • Grant writing and reporting experience
  • Exemplary management and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Comfort with frequent public speaking
  • Must work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Able to organize complex projects and set work priorities, ensuring the timely completion of all activities
  • Must work within budget, function well under pressure and be a creative problem solver
  • Bachelor’s degree with four to six year’s relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Non-profit experience and familiarity with energy efficiency preferred
  • This position requires occasional travel

Salary:

Salary Range: $50,000 to $60,000
