Heroes at Home

Heroes at Homesm was launched by Rebuilding Together and Sears Holdings in May 2007. Heroes at Home strives to improve the lives of all low-income U.S. service members, veterans, and military families in need across America by making necessary repairs, improvements, and modifications to their homes.

The donations for Heroes at Home are collected by Sears and Kmart through in-store fundraising campaigns. To date, these campaigns have generated nearly $4 million in donations. This funding is distributed by the National Office through an affiliate grant process. As more donations are collected, the number of Heroes at Home projects will also increase.

Heroes at Home Featured Veteran

Sgt. Ryan C. Major was critically injured while serving in Iraq when an IED exploded near him resulting in the loss of both legs. With the help of the Heroes at Home program, Sgt. Major is now able to recover at home with his family. Heroes at Home provide him with a new accessible bedroom, bathroom and installed an elevator. Thank you to our Rebuilding Together Montgomery County affiliate for all of their hard work in putting this project together.
