Smart Land Use
Typically, a discussion of smart land use involves choosing an appropriate site for constructing a new building. While Rebuilding Together does only work on existing homes, there are some principles from smart land use that our affiliates incorporate in order to benefit families and the environment. When landscaping a yard, our affiliates frequently use plant species native to the area, and plant nontoxic varieties for households with children or pets. Rebuilding Together also plants shade trees to help keep homes cool.
