Resource Efficiency

The Earth’s resources are finite, and the EPA estimates that 75% of America’s waste is recyclable.  The National Recycling Coalition indicates that the average American discards 4.6 pounds of garbage every day.  By recycling or composting 85 million tons of waste in 2007, the EPA estimates that Americans were able to save the equivalent of 10.7 billion gallons of gasoline!  By conserving and reusing our building supplies and materials, Rebuilding Together affiliates are doing their part to protect the environment.
