Rebuilding Together Southeast Texas
RT Southeast Texas was formed in 2006 in the wake of the damage caused in the cities of Beaumont, Port Arthur, and Orange by Hurricane Rita. Responding to the need in theses communities, Rebuilding Together’s Houston affiliate lead the expansion of our program to a new territory; providing services to the many low-income homeowners that resided in the region long before the hurricane recovery effort began.
Rebuilding Together Calcasieu
RT Calcasieu was established in 1992 by a loyal group of local volunteers to serve the cities of Sulphur, Westlake, Lake Charles, Moss Bluff, Iowa. Since Hurricane Rita, RT Calcasieu has increased capacity to respond to the needs of the community, rehabbing homes on a year round basis for the first time in its history.
Rebuilding Together Acadiana
RT Acadiana serves 5 Parishes in SW Louisiana: Iberia, Vermilion, St. Martin, Lafayette and Acadia. From 1998 until 2005 RT Acadiana averaged 65 projects per year. Since Hurricane Rita the affiliate has been making a steady comeback, completing over 100 projects while simultaneously managing three local programs in addition to the hurricane related rebuilds.
Rebuilding Together New Orleans
RT New Orleans is celebrating their 20th anniversary as an affiliate in 2008. In that time RTNO had completed over 1000 projects in 15 neighborhoods throughout the city. After Katrina, the Rebuilding Together New Orleans affiliate began repairing hurricane and flood damaged homes for the city's residents. Rebuilding Together has taken on the challenges of total renovation so that elderly and disable homeowners can safely move back into their homes.
Rebuilding Together Gulf Coast
RT Gulf Coast was established in 1994 and covers nearly the entire coast of Mississippi, from Bay St. Louis, to Biloxi, to Moss Point. After Hurricane Katrina, the affiliate was re-launched in 2007 to address the needs of some of the most heavily damaged communities in the Gulf.
