How Our Partners are Helping in Haiti
In addition to supporting Rebuilding Together, and the Rebuilding Together Disaster Relief Fund, our corporate sponsors are also providing assistance to the people in Haiti through many channels. We applaud their efforts and thank them for their outreach on behalf of those in need.
- Lowes’ has donated $1 million to the American Red Cross International Response Fund. Additionally, all Lowes’ stores will serve as donation centers for customers. http://www.lowes.com/
- Choice Hotels International is encouraging its franchise hotels to support disaster relief efforts in their communities through product donations. Additionally, they are partnering with Rebuilding Together at our annual Kickoff To Rebuild community revitalization event in Miami on February 4th to use the event as a collection and donation site. http://www.choicehotels.com
- Sears and Kmart are collecting funds for donations to the American Red Cross through their stores in Puerto Rico and South Florida, and on-line. They have also announced that they will be making donations in the form of medical supplies and household items to Haiti. http://www.sears.com
- HGTV, under their parent company, Scripps Networks will match employee donations to the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Share Our Strength, UNICEF, and United Way. http://www.scrippsnetworks.com
- Honeywell has committed $1 million in cash, including a 100% match of employee donations, to fund rebuilding projects in Haiti. Honeywell is also making its business jets available and has already provided airlift support to Operation USA to deliver 1,500 lbs. of medical supplies, including urgently-needed, high-value antibiotics, and transported Partners In Health medical staff to Port-au-Prince. The company and employee contributions will be used to fund projects to begin the long process of rebuilding in Haiti.
