HGTV

Rebuilding Together is proud to have HGTV as a media partner.  Since 2007, HGTV has supported Rebuilding Together through their Change the World. Start at Home campaign hosting a variety of projects around the country and featuring those events in on-air specials on HGTV.
 
Determined by online voting cities were chosen to be HGTV project host sites utilizing local volunteers to help make a difference in their communities, Rebuilding Together and HGTV have engaged their viewers every step of the way.

2007 - HGTV and its non-profit partners selected the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley as the location to launch the Change the World. Start at Home effort because the organization embodies the broader definition of home, offering young people in the community a safe place to learn and play.  Watch a video recap from the Boy and Girls Club.

2008 - HGTV announced five additional city winners during its Rose Bowl coverage.  During the inaugural Change the World week, beginning April 26, 2008, the projects in each of the winning markets were completed through the help of volunteers and HGTV partners.  One project in each community focused on environmentally friendly improvements while another had a historical focus to help preserve the fabric of the community. Watch videos from each city: Denver; New Orleans; Twin Cities; Washington D.C.; and Baltimore.

HGTV supported the effort by broadcasting Public Service Announcements with on-air talent during a special week of programming. Viewers were able to see special episodes of Color Splash, Spice Up My Kitchen, Design on a Dime, Carter Can, Divine Design and Hidden Potential that featured inspirational room makeovers for people who needed a helping hand.

2009 - The Change the World. Start at Home campaign offered new opportunities for Americans to engage in volunteer community projects.  In partnership with Rebuilding Together, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), HGTV encouraged local volunteers to come together and complete the renovations at the two winning sites; St. Louis and Philadelphia.
