For more than a decade, Countrywide Financial has supported Rebuilding Together’s efforts to rebuild homes for the low-income elderly, disabled and families with children. Our collaborative goal has been to help homeowners preserve their most valuable asset – their homes. Throughout this long-standing relationship, Countrywide has contributed approximately $6 million in funding to support rebuild projects, assisted Rebuilding Together affiliates with capacity-building support, and created special initiatives. Additionally, approximately 8,000 Countrywide employees, family members and business partners have contributed in excess of 70,000 volunteer hours to renovate nearly 500 homes."

By contributing $1 million each to both Serving those who Serve and Rebuild 1,000!, Countrywide became founding sponsor for these two special initiatives, which aim to provide necessary home modifications for severely injured veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, and to rebuild at least 1,000 homes devastated in the 2005 Gulf Coast hurricanes.
