AARP

AARP and Rebuilding Together in the process of implementing a $1.8 million, strategic partnership to include, collaborative rebuilding programs targeted at our nation's senior population.  In 2008, AARP will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary and AARP is looking to the RT affiliates to help them celebrate this milestone by providing a quality volunteer experience centered around the revitalization of a community asset that continues to serve and have an impact in the local community in seven markets across the country.

Since 2006 AARP’s Livable Communities Initiative and Rebuilding Together’s Home Modifications Program have been working together to help low-income elderly people. The AARP Livable Communities Initiative has sponsored 89 projects in 19 markets, for a total of $580,000 in pass-through grants to affiliates.  This year, affiliates are working with the AARP state offices to complete all aspects of project management.  AARP state offices and Rebuilding Together affiliates are active partners in house selection, work scope development, media and marketing.
