Partners in Skilled Trade
ASHI:
The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) was formed in 1976 by a group of visionary home inspectors with the common goal of building consumer awareness and enhancing the professionalism of their field. This professional association for home inspectors made its first order of business to establish and advocate high standards of practice and a strict code of ethics for the member community. Today, with 6,000+ members and 80+ chapters, ASHI is the largest and most respected professional association for home inspectors in North America. Through ASHI’s continued efforts, ASHI's Standards of Practice—covering all of a home's major systems—are now part of many pieces of state legislation and are recognized by consumers as the authoritative standard for professional home inspection. Rebuilding Together is delighted to work in partnership with ASHI at the local and National levels. ASHI has done extensive outreach for the Gulf Coast initiatives and has offered several Gulf Coast volunteer opportunities to their members in the past few years. NAHB:
Rebuilding Together is pleased to partner with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) on many projects around the country. NAHB and Rebuilding Together are a great match because we share a similar vision. Chief among NAHB’s goals is providing and expanding opportunities for all consumers to have safe, decent and affordable housing. As “the voice of America’s housing industry,” NAHB helps promote policies that will keep housing a national priority. The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the Senior Lending Network recently joined forces with Rebuilding Together New Orleans to renovate a home severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Volunteers at NAHB’s National Green Building Conference and Building for Boomers & Beyond: 50 + Housing Symposium participated in a three-day community service project in mid-May to rebuild the home of a 67-year-old woman and her elderly mother, who were both displaced by Katrina. NRCA has been involved with Rebuilding Together for over 10 years and has adopted Rebuilding Together as its national charitable organization. Rebuilding Together is thrilled to partner with NRCA, especially because there is a growing need for roofing work. By joining a Rebuilding Together project, NRCA members and affiliate chapters can make a difference in the lives of others and collectively help improve the roofing industry's image.
