Rebuilding Together has been named an Older Americans Month Program Champion!

Article type: Feature

Rebuilding Together has been named an Older Americans Month Program Champion, and will be featured on the Administration on Aging’s website on June 20!

Did you know...

  • According to the U.S. Census Bureau, one out of every nine baby boomers will live to be at least age 90.
  • One-third of older Americans fall each year; among those who fall, 20 to 30 percent suffer serious injuries, such as hip fractures or head traumas. These injuries diminish mobility, create serious health problems and increase the risk of earlier death.

Rebuilding Together has responded to the silent epidemic of falls through our home modifications program. Stairs may need handrails, the floors and rugs are slippery, the bathrooms are difficult to maneuver, the rooms may be cluttered, the lighting poor, the sidewalks cracked and uneven. By emphasizing home safety and falls prevention in the form of home modifications, we are helping homeowners remain safe in their homes.
