NFL’s David Garrard, Thomas Tapeh and Brandon Jones help local community center and homeowner with much needed repairs

PHOENIX – February 2, 2008 – Rebuilding Together, the nation’s largest nonprofit working to preserve affordable home ownership teamed up with NFL players David Garrard, Thomas Tapeh, and Brandon Jones to repair and paint a community center and the home of long time community volunteer, Ella Hennix. 
The 13th annual “Kickoff to Rebuild” event drew more than 100 community volunteers, including Phoenix City Councilman Greg Stanton. Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon also spoke at the event and thanked the community for all their hard work.
Rebuilding Together has partnered with the NFL for the past 13 years to make a valuable and lasting impact in the Super Bowl host city. This year’s project provided much needed repairs to the Valley Christian Center and to the home of local community volunteer, Ms. Ella Hennix. This work was critical and provided repairs and upgrades to the properties to ensure safe, healthy, and efficient standards.
Rebuilding Together is already hard at work planning the 14th annual “Kickoff to Rebuild” which will take place in Tampa, FL in 2009.
